Stephanie specializes in energy policy and economics, in particular carbon pricing and technology diffusion.
Stephanie is interested in how governments navigate the modern energy transition, and how coal figures into that process in both developed and developing countries. Currently, she is examining trends in international investment in coal power, in particular through the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative. She has also studied the effects of carbon pricing mechanisms on coal power and technology, such as carbon capture. In addition, Stephanie works on the role of policy in promoting innovation in the energy sector.
Stephanie has her Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Cambridge. Before coming to the UK, she worked in the state government of Pennsylvania, and studied political science and economics at the University of Pittsburgh.
