The ongoing USDOS funded project activities comprise training and capacity building to provide stakeholders with strategies to reduce emissions from coal power plants. The aim has been to identify sustainable strategies for mercury emissions monitoring, evaluation, and reduction within the coal power sector in a cost-effective manner. The ICSC-led project team has worked with government ministries, utilities, and other stakeholders to create a dataset of plant characteristics and performance parameters for all coal-fired utilities on a unit-by-unit basis.
